Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio FutureAuthor: Jon Martin | Friday, April 30th, 2010 |
Jet Set Radio, or, in America, Jet GRIND Radio is one of my favorite games of all time. It was a mash-up of great music, great gameplay, and an art style that was way ahead of it’s time. Though the Dreamcast didn’t last that long, this game set the bar for pixel-shadding until Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker (game looks amazing). A few years after the Dreamcast game, the Xbox game Jet Set Radio Future was released and.. it was just as good as the first game.Jet Set Radio Future was a huge step up from Jet Set Radio. While JSR was pretty laidback and almost seemed to have a stoner vibe, JSRF was all about the future and pushing new boundries in gaming and in media. The music/art style/design was the best that was ever on the Xbox, IMO. While JSR was relatively small, JSRF was huge and had huge bosses and an “end of the world” scenario. It was crazy detailed and you could tell Smilebit, the developer, put in a lot of time and effort. It was released in 2002, only two years after the first.
