General McChrystal “Resigns”, Petraeus Now Heading US Military Effort in Afghanistan

Petraeus is in and McChrystal is out. What does this mean? Who knows? As civilians we exist in a fog of disinformation or, I guess, lack of information. I doubt we will notice any change, we are still on a mission to lose as much money as possible it seems. Then again, those mineral deposits might be extending our stay.

We should get out of Afghanistan and hearing Obama up there was not very reassuring. We were supposed to pull out of both wars and even though Obama says we have clear goals.. it doesn’t sound like we do. How much good are we really doing and how long will it take to undo everything after we leave? The conflict in Afghanistan appears unending and I wish our president had the balls to make an unpopular move. Lately, with Obama praying and now Obama making a big deal about switching Generals, it really just seems like fodder for Republican support. If Obama is going to make us stay, he should give us something besides the REPUBLICAN talking points from the Bush administration.
