Bill O’Reilly Argues Against 9/11 Mosque (Video)Author: Jon Martin | Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 |
Last night on the O’Reilly Factor, Nihad Awad of Council on American-Islamic Relations sat down with Bill to discuss the new mosque being erected only two blocks from ground zero. Bill argues that it will hurt the feelings of the relatives of those who were killed on 9/11 if the mosque is allowed to be built.
It is true that the hijackers were all followers of Islam but many that were killed in the twin towers were also followers. Unfortunately, Bill thinks that appealing to emotions is a suitable debating technique. He tells a little story about a boy waking up with no father on 9/11 and uses that to try to emotionally appeal to the viewer.
As an atheist, I think it’s just dumb regardless… but that doesn’t mean Christians get to tell Muslims what they can and can’t do. We can’t continue to tear apart our constitution because we are afraid of terrorism. Terrorism is a tactic that will never disappear. As long as their is a way to hurt people, there will be terrorism. That’s why this Afghanistan war is bogus and why Obama’s approval rating is dipping below 40%.
