Richard Tillman sits down with Bill Maher to Discuss his Brother’s Death (Video)

On Friday night’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher sat down with Richard Tillman to discuss the new documentary on his brother, The Tillman Story. Pat Tillman was a football player that gave up his chance to play to head over and fight in Afghanistan. While on duty in Afghanistan, Tillman was killed by friendly fire but it was reported as enemy fire.
The real story behind Tillman’s death was covered up by parts of the military and an investigation was only launched after the family refused to believe the official story. In what will probably be a rare interview, Richard and Bill discuss the documentary, the war, Tillman’s beliefs, and the cover-up. You might remember Richard from his startling comments about his brother to the media. Richard told news crews that Pat wasn’t in heaven, Pat didn’t believe in heaven, Pat was an atheist, and that Pat was dead and in the ground.
UPDATE: Fixed most of the vids, currently fixing the rest.
Later in the show Andrew Breitbart, Amy Holmes, and Seth Macfarlane joined Maher to discuss current events. Breitbart recently made headlines when he edited footage of Sherry Sherrod to make her appear racist. The story was picked up and eventually lead to Sherry Sherrod being fired… until a day later when the entire video was played and it was revealed that Sherrod had actually been taken out of context. It’s interesting to watch the roundtable because you can tell they don’t like Breitbart. Also notice how Breitbart gets all serious when anything about gay people is brought up? It’s kind of telling.
Don’t Ask Don’t Tell also came up and Maher chided Democrats for backing down from an issue that 75% of Americans agree with. It’s really pathetic when you think about it. Do Republicans have that much power or are Democrats really that spineless? I can’t tell.. but I can tell that we are getting almost nothing done these days.
What ideas in the Pledge [To America] have worked before? because they said ‘We want to cut spending, except common sense exceptions for seniors, veterans, and our troops.’ That’s 70% of the budget right there…” – Bill Maher
The Republicans ‘Promise to America‘ is a 20-piece page of bullshit that Republicans unvieled at a hardware store earlier this week. It’s supposed to be a roadmap to get America back on track, but it only seems to reverse Obama’s policies. The problem is that, if you reverse these polices… we are back where we started, so instead of waiting to see if Obama’s plans will work, Republicans want us to start from scratch. This isn’t suprising though, this has been the Republican’s attitude since the Democrats took control of the house and senate. The Republicans in Congress are happy with just breaking even, they are happy as long as Obama can’t do anything and can’t look good in front of the American people.
Maher unveiled another embarrassing clip of Christine O’Donnell from Politically Incorrect, his canceled ABC show. Since O’Donnell has refused to do interviews with the media, all anyone has to work with are old clips from TV shows. Unfortunately for O’Donnell, she doesn’t come off very bright.. but like Maher says, she seems way nicer than Palin.
