Maddow: Chamber of Commerce Promotes Outsourcing Jobs (Video)Author: Jon Martin | Friday, October 15th, 2010 |
The outsourcing of American jobs has been a hot-button issue going into this years mid-term elections. The Tea-Baggers and the right-wing have attacked Obama and Democrats for losing jobs but in reality, Republicans are supporting candidates that want to ship jobs overseas. In this clip from The Rachel Maddow Show, Maddow discusses how the Chamber of Commerce is now releasing ads attacking candidates that are sending jobs and work overseas. The only problem? The Chamber of Commerce is now encouraging jobs to be sent overseas. Do you suppose that the Chamber of Commerce is more interested in gaining monetary value than helping American’s get jobs?
Sometimes it seems like our entire political system needs a reboot. Especially when our own Chamber of Commerce is telling companies to send jobs overseas instead of having Americans do those jobs here. I think this might be what happens when businessmen are put into roles where they can take risks in the name of the American people. Instead of encouraging American jobs, the Chamber of Congress is taking risks.. and betting they will make more money from outsourcing, this, at a time when unemployment is still at incredibly high numbers.
How could we possibly ship jobs to another country when our unemployment rate is so high? It’s probably because our corporate system cares about the bottom line instead of our country. Most men on Wall st would probably sell America into destruction if they picked up a hefty paycheck.. and actually, that’s what is happening. The rich people are getting their money and getting it out of the US. Instead of helping to save our country in this mess, they just want to get what is theirs, or whatever they can scrape together… maybe before it all goes bust.
That’s why tax-cuts for the wealthy is bullshit. Tax-cuts for the wealthy when the US is in a recession puts our country in an even worse economic situation, couple that with the fact they want to send jobs to other countries.. and it’s clear that these businessmen are doing it for themselves as businessmen, not as Americans. They don’t really care about being American, or helping others, they live in an insular world where everything is financially in reach and they don’t have to participate in society or think about the consequences of their financial endeavors… and that’s how they would like to keep it.
