‘The View’ Misses the Point on TSA Scanning (Video)

Earlier today on ‘The View’, the panel discussed the announcement that no one can avoid being scanned even due to religion. The audience cheered. Ever since they were put into place, the TSA’s new intrusive security measures have angered many Americans.
Earlier this week, a video went viral, where a man tells TSA agents that if they touch his ‘junk’ he will call the cops. Shepard Smith, of Fox News recieved his highest ratings ever discussing the new TSA regulations and taking a stand against the measures. The State of New Jersey has has moved towards banning the scanners outright, saying they are unconstitutional.
So, one must wonder… what planet does this episode of ‘The View’ take place on? The audience cheers the new measures. Joy points out that some women might like getting felt up(!) and that it could be like foreplay. The discussion then segways into Sherri’s child having to be patted down by a TSA scanner. Both Sherri and Elizabeth say that strangers shouldn’t be allowed to touch their children and that they should be allowed to go through the scanners holding their children.
Absent from the discussion is any mention that the scanners might cause cancer. It’s been strange watching Barbara’s journalism ethic slowly dissipate. Shouldn’t she be playing the devil’s advocate? questioning the measures? It’s a bit infuriating when everyone just plays along. Barabara describes telling a child how they will have to go through and get touched, and it honestly sounds like she’s preparing a child to be raped or something. It’s a shame Americans are so willing to just go along with whatever is thrown at them.

I agree with the writer that the so-called commentators on The View displayed knee-jerk acceptance of TSA's
invasive new proceedures. Behar's cheap shot joke that women should enjoy being felt up was blazingly
sexist not to mention mediocre. These uncredentialled ninnies could not parse a serious issue if their lives depended on it.
Joy Behar said if you don't want your child to be searched, don't fly. Not an option for some of us. Secondly, right after saying why little kids should be OK with this type pat down search, she tells the audience to pretend it's foreplay. Does she not hear herself? Does she not see how illogical she's being?
