Julian Assange signs memoir dealAuthor: Jon Martin | Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 |
Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange has a hectic schedule and claims that some wikileaks associates have already been assassinated, but that didn’t stop Assange from signing a new book deal UK-based publisher Canongate. It is a strange reflection of the times, having such an infamous man do a memoir in the midst of the wikileaks scandal but Assange is viewed as a hero around much of the world and quite popular. Assange is currently fighting extradition to Sweden after being accused of rape. Many, including Michael Moore believe that the rape charges are false and too coincidental, coming out right as important wikileaks documents were.
Assange is currently confined to an English manor and it appears this free time is coming in handy. Assange, the leader of wikileaks, has signed a deal to write his memoirs and has promised to deliver the manuscript by March. Publishers were hoping to keep the book secret but as with anything related with Assange, the information was leaked.
Assange’s memoir isn’t the only account of wikileaks making its way to book stores, Daniel Domscheit-Berg, an associate of Assange, is also writing his own book, Inside Wikileaks: My Time at the World’s Most Dangerous Website.
