Mark Walhberg Says He Quit Weed for His Kids

During his acceptance speech for an Indie Impact Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, actor and former rapper Mark Wahlberg gave the audience quite a surprise when he decided to talk about his former drug use.
While accepting his award, the 39 year old Walhberg admitted that he used to smoke marijuana but he said he has since quit. It started when Walhberg compared the award he was receiving to a bong.
“But I don’t use those anymore” he said quickly after the joke.
As it turns out, Walhberg was spurred to stop by his children.
“I stopped smoking weed for my kids,” he told the laughing audience.
Walhberg then shared a story with the audience about when he went driving in the car with his daughter. While they were driving, she asked what the smell in the air was. Walhberg told her that it was probably just a skunk outside.
He said that it was her next comment that sealed the deal.
“Sometimes Daddy Smells like that,” she said.
Walhberg said he had to quit after he heard that.
He also told OK magazine that he doesn’t go out and party anymore, instead he goes to church. O_O
